Sharks in Australia

White sharks

For those who dares, you can go ‘cage swimming’ with the white sharks. Keep in mind that you have to book these tours far in advance because there fill up very quickly!

You can book this tour at Rodney Fox (with overnight stays). Or with Shark cage diving.

Shark Cage diving is located close to Port Lincoln, in South Australia. There are also tours done from Adelaide, but then you get flown into Port Lincoln. Keep in mind that with this tour it takes you three hours to get to your destination, and of course, three hours to get back. For people who get seasick fast, take pills with you! You wouldn’t want to miss out on the swimming because of your seasickness.

Also, remember they don’t have a 100% refund system. This means: When you don’t see the animals on the day of the tour, you get a 50% discount on your next tour. Most of the time they’re lucky, but there’s always a risk.

Whale sharks

For most people swimming with whale sharks is an unforgettable experience. You don't need a scuba diving license or any experience to go snorkeling. This is also an amazing experience for children!

Whale sharks aren’t dangerous. They swim by the coast of Ningaloo Reef in Australia. Booking this event in advance is almost always a must because of the limited spots available, and because of the fact that they only swim by the Australian coast a couple months a year. The whale sharks swim along the Ningaloo Reef coast from March-April tot approximately June-July.

You can book the tours online or at the place itself. The advantage of doing the latter is that you can try to get discounts!!! But, of course, there’s no guarantee there’s room for you the next day, in most cases, you’ll just have to wait your turn!

TIP: mail the companies and ask them if there are any package deals for example if you were to also book a (couple of) night(s) at the accommodation they offer.

You can book your tour online on the following websites:

Whale shark dive

Ningaloo blue

Of course, the internet offers so much more, but these are the most famous!

Transportation to Exmouth

Exmouth is very easily accessible with the larger bus companies or with your own transportation. Would you rather fly to Exmouth? That’s a possibility! You can take a look at the airline Skywest.
