Cheap Airfares

Cheap plane tickets

When looking for a plane ticket don’t just stare at one page. Try and compare different websites, in most cases, there’s a price difference between the (same) tickets. Besides, its smart to search through a flightsearchmachine first, so you can see what airlines fly to your destination. Your next step would be to go to the airline’s website or call them. In some cases, they’re even cheaper or they offer other good deals.

In most cases, it’s cheapest to fly from Dusseldorf, Barcelona, London or any other big city. If you happen to be fluent in one of those languages you can also try to search in that language and book a flight from that country. The easiest way to come by these tickets is to use Google or any other search machine.

There are different ways to book a plane ticket:

Fixed ticket

Open (world) ticket

Single journey

Individual single trips

Money-saving plane tickets to Australia: flight times

Tip 1:

There are different options when booking a flight to Australia. It depends on your own personal situation and budget which one you might choose. It’s important to choose the one that fits best with your travel plans. Do you want to stay away long, but you’re not sure exactly how long? Then it’s best to choose to book an ‘open world ticket’ or a single journey. If you know exactly how long you want to stay in Australia? Then you could choose to purchase a ticket with a certain date on it.

Tip 2:

It’s not handy to plan every single thing about your trip to Australia, especially things like dates. Speaking from experience, you really can only say if you want to stay where you are when you’re actually there. Sometimes you might want to leave earlier or maybe even stay a little longer. If you do, it’s not smart buying a ticket where the dates are already set.

Tip 3:

When you go looking for tickets, don’t just stare at one page. Compare the different websites, in most cases, there’s a big difference between prices for the (same) tickets. It’s also recommended to search with a flight search machine first. This way you can see what airlines fly to your destination. After that google the airlines, visit their websites, or just call them. In some cases, when you call, they’re even cheaper or they can offer you a deal.

Tip 4:

In most cases, it’s cheapest to fly from Dusseldorf, Barcelona, London or any other big city. If you happen to be fluent in one of those languages you can also try to search in that langue and book a flight from that country. The easiest way to come by these tickets is to use Google or any other search machine.

World ticket

World tickets offer you the chance to change your flight (for free) and sometimes even once (or for a little more money) change your route. This is the ideal option for people who do not know what they want to do during their trip. Keep in mind that these tickets are more expensive than the ones that have fixed dates.

You can buy fixed world tickets (with the standard stops) or you can compose your own world ticket (These are the most expensive ones). The tickets that have a fixed route usually have a lot of different stops.

In most cases, search machines for flights like TIX and Worldticketcenter offer really good deals. You can keep an eye on the site for the cheapest tickets. These are usually cheaper than what the actual airline offers.

Other flight search machines may offer the same options. Take a look at the different websites, or stop by a travel agency. They can inform you on everything you need to know!

Single journey

Another option for your trip could be booking a single journey. You can’t get into every country with a single journey (sometimes you need to be able to prove that you’ll leave like in America). However Australia has no problem with you coming into the country on a single journey, you just have to show them you have enough money with you. Keep in mind this is about $1000 (Australian dollars) per month you plan on staying. (Click here for the current exchange rate.) The maximum amount of months you can stay in the country you can check by checking for how long your visa is valid once you’ve entered the country.

A single journey is a bit more expensive than a return ticket, but it gives you all the freedom to choose when and where to fly to next. Ideal for people who’ll ‘see whatever happens’ with their trip. A tip: Buy single journeys!

Individual single trips

What’s also a possibility is buying individual single trips with budget airlines. When you buy a cheap single journey to Asia, then you have the opportunity to buy another cheap single journey to Australia through Tigerairways. Take a look at their flight routes: Tigerairways is the way to get a cheap single journey to Australia!!

Group trip

When you’re planning on going on your first big trip and it’s really far away, it might be a good idea to travel with a group or choose for a starters package. This has a few advantages, for example:

1.You’re not alone your first few days in Australia, the first few days you’ll travel with a nice (big) group of Dutch people who are going to stick together for a long time! Very easy for your first contacts!

2.The organization will show you around all the important locations and sights in Sidney.

3.The organization will organize the accommodation, food/drinks, and activities for the first (3-4) days.

4.The organization will help you open a bank account, and activate your tax papers (only if you have a ‘work and holiday’ visa!)

5.Information day/night for all your questions before you leave!

Traveling with a group isn’t only just practical but also a lot of fun. Sometimes you’ll meet somebody in the group with whom you’ll be traveling with for months!

Group plane ticket

The plane tickets booked by the organization are usually a little bit more expensive than a plane ticket without a group trip. Ask the organization if it’s possible to book your own flight but still go on the group trip. This often saves you hundreds of euros!
